2015  Camp Dates

Our Pack will attend Session 1:  June 3 - 6, 2015

The summer camp program at Camp George Thomas is a three-night adventure for Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts.  Cub Scouts enjoy days of archery, BB guns, crafts, fishing, games and swimming.  Webelos Scouts will choose from a variety of similar activities including Webelos Activity Badges.  Everyone will enjoy campfires, hiking, flag ceremonies and camping overnight!Cub Scouts and Webelos may attend camp as a Pack, as a Den or with registered parents.  Some Packs have a long history of attending summer camp, others may be new to the tradition.  Either way, get a group of Scouts together and get outside!

Camperships

The Council has a limited amount of scholarship funds available to assist Scouts who need financial assistance in attending camp.  The responsibility to see that every Scout attends camp is shared between parents, the Pack leadership and the Council.  It is the policy of the Council that a full campership will not be granted to any individual Scout.

Campership forms are available from the Council office or may be
downloaded.  The applications must be turned in at the Council Service Center office by April 1, 2015.  Applications turned in after April 1 may not receive funding.

The Camp Program

Tiger Cubs, Wolves & Bears

All boys who have completed Kindergarten but not yet begun 3rd Grade are Cub Scouts. At Camp George Thomas, Cub Scouts will participate in a variety of activities and complete many requirements for belt loops and rank advancements.  The main purpose of the activities however, is to have fun outside! All Tiger Cubs, Wolves, and Bears (Cub Scouts) will participate in a pre-set program consisting of one activity period in the following areas:

Archery
BB Guns
Crafts
Fishing
Games
Swimming

Webelos Scouts

All boys who have completed 3rd grade but have not yet joined a Boy Scout Troop may participate in the Webelos Outdoor Adventure. Webelos dens will follow a separate program designed to transition them to Boy Scout Camping.  During 2015, we will work on both the new adventures (Cast Iron Chef, First Responder, Webelos Walkabout, Camper, and Scouting Adventure) as well as traditional Webelos pins (Readyman, Aquanaut, Forrester, Naturalist, Outdoorsman, and Showman). Each Webelos den will sign up and attend the activities as a group and will furnish adult leaders to escort and attend the activities. For the first time this year, Webelos will camp separate from their Cub Scout counterparts as we work on our activities throughout the day.  All deposits, Scout fees, Leader fees, correspondence, etc., should be made ONLY by the PACK CAMP COORDINATOR. This person is responsible for collecting the fees, camp applications, and health forms, along with registering the boys online. No fees or applications will be accepted through any other person. NO CAMPER WILL BE PERMITTED IN CAMP UNTIL ALL FEES ARE PAID IN FULL.
